If you are looking for something relaxing to do on a warm summer day, why not check out Port Richmond’s General Pulaski Park.  After the completion of a recent restoration project that planning began in 2009 , the park is now a beautiful greenscape with access to the Delaware River.

There is a wide footpath that meanders the length of the park with benches to rest and enjoy the sun. A new railing along the river is usually lined with fishermen hoping to catch the next big one. Of course you don’t have to do anything at all. There is a large circular grassy area just perfect for a picnic lunch to relax and watch as ships pass by.

Parallel to the pier are the historic gantries that represent Port Richmond’s industrial history. Even better, if you look to the south there is a stunning view of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in the distance. The grass is not the only green thing as there are Solar powered lighting throughout the park.

Pulaski park is also a nice stop along the new Delaware River bike trail that is still under construction. So whether by car, bus, trolley or bike, stop on by and enjoy a hidden jewel of Port Richmond.

General Pulaski Park is located at the end of Allegheny Avenue just past Richmond Street & I-95. Simply head east on Allegheny Avenue and, if you get wet, you have gone too far.
